Ski & Snowboarding Lessons With a Native English Speaker

Whether you're a beginner, a timid skier or simply looking to polish up your technique my unique approach will get you results.

From 20 months to 90 years and every age in between!

Lynne Stainbrook is Flaine Ski Clinic.

When you book your lessons, the lessons will be with me.  I focus on technique and the psychology of skiing; if you have the right technique you ski better, feel more confident and in control, and enjoy it more.  My technique doesn’t involve muscle strength so you can ski all day without the “quad” burn and anxiety.  Having good technical skills will enable you to control your speed, plus you will have the confidence and ability to adjust to varying snow or terrain conditions (poor visibility, narrow, steep, bumpy, icy, polished, hard packed, soft).

Whether you are an intermediate or advance level skier, the lessons are taught on a user-friendly slope.  It’s easier to learn a new skill or improve your technique on a gentle slope.  This is completely different from trailing around the mountain behind an instructor and is preferable to people who want to spend their full lesson time learning proper technique rather than having a guided tour.  (Although if you prefer a guided tour, weather permitting, why not?)

Who takes lessons with me?
All sorts of people, of every age, but here are some examples:

  • Beginners and improvers, adults and children as young as 20 months old.  Book individual or group lessons with families and friends

  • Nervous skiers.  Maybe you’ve been spooked by being pushed up the mountain before you felt ready, or were the ‘little elephant bringing up the rear’ in the group lessons you took.  I will put you back in control of your skiing, so that you enjoy the experience.

  • More mature skiers who want to ski safely and effortlessly.  “Control” is my middle name!

  • Skiers who are stuck at the intermediate plateau and want to break through into expert skiing, increase their confidence and speed control.

  • Couples who ski at different levels.  Do you wish you skied as well as your partner?  And enjoyed it as much as them?  I can teach skiers of different levels in the same lesson because the lessons focus on technique.

  • People who feel they may not be fit enough to ski.  The technique that I teach uses the bones for support and the muscles to dance gracefully down the piste.

  • Skiers who are returning after injury and want to improve their technical level and confidence.  Whether the injury is skiing-related or not, I use a gentle psychological and technical approach which allows you to progress to anxiety-free and effortless skiing and boarding.
